FAQ

Have Questions?

How Long Should I Run My Pumps?

Most pools need the pump running 8 to 12 hours a day in summer so all the water passes through the filter at least once.

How Do I Back Wash My Filter?

Switch off the pump, set the valve to backwash, run the pump for 2 to 3 minutes until the water runs clear, then rinse and return to filter.

What Is Normal Pressure For My Filter?

Note the pressure after a clean; most filters run at 10 to 20 psi. When it rises 8 to 10 psi above that, it is time to clean.

What Should I Do When The Temperature Is Below Freezing?

Keep the pump running to stop water freezing in the pipes, or have us winterise the pool before the cold arrives.

How Often Should I Backwash My Filter?

Usually every 2 to 4 weeks, or whenever the pressure rises well above its normal level.

My Pool Is Losing Water! What Should I Do?

Some evaporation is normal, but a drop of more than a quarter inch a day may be a leak. Call us for a leak detection visit.
