Narrow Lanes of Spanish City
Maysa Halabi
Whitewashed walls, flower pots and tapas in the old quarter.
Some cities are best discovered on foot, and this was one of them. The old quarter is a maze of narrow lanes, whitewashed walls and patios overflowing with flowers.
We spent our days wandering without a plan, stopping for tapas whenever we got hungry and resting in shady squares during the afternoon heat.
Visit in spring for the patio festival, wear comfortable shoes for the cobblestones and try the cold tomato soup on a hot day.
