Seeing the marble mausoleum at sunrise, and why it changes colour through the day.
The white marble glows pink at sunrise, bright white at noon and golden in the evening. We visited twice in one day and it felt like two different buildings.
Arrive before the gates open to enjoy the gardens in near silence. Shoe covers are provided, and only small bags are allowed inside.
For a different view, cross the river to the moonlight garden at sunset and watch the reflection on the water.
