Streaming shares fell sharply this week after the company reported fewer new subscribers than analysts expected.

The slowdown comes as rival services spend heavily on original shows and sports rights. Price rises in several markets also seem to have made some viewers think twice.

The company says a strong slate of new releases will bring growth back later this year. Investors will be watching closely to see whether that bet pays off.
