Frequently Asked Questions
My car is all-wheel-drive, does it require a flatbed tow truck?
Yes. All-wheel-drive vehicles should always be moved on a flatbed so no wheels turn during the tow, which protects the drivetrain.
My car has an automatic transmission, can it be towed with the drive wheels on the ground?
Only for very short distances at low speed. For anything longer we use a flatbed or wheel-lift with dollies to avoid transmission damage.
Does it cost more to get towed on a weekend or a holiday?
No. Our rates are the same 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
Is towing rough on my car?
Not when it is done properly. Our drivers secure every vehicle with soft straps and the right equipment for its make and model.
Do tow truck drivers have special training?
Yes. All our drivers are trained in safe loading, roadside safety and recovering vehicles after accidents.
Do tow truck drivers need a special license?
Our drivers hold the commercial licence required for heavy recovery vehicles and are fully insured.
Are tow trucks inspected for road worthiness?
Every truck in our fleet is inspected regularly and serviced on schedule, so it is ready for any call-out.
My car is lowered, can it still be towed?
Yes. We use flatbeds with low-angle ramps and extra care when loading lowered and sports cars.
