My story

Hind Al Rashed

I grew up in Kuwait City with my grandmother’s stories and my father’s atlas. Travelling taught me that every place has a story waiting for someone patient enough to hear it. I write novels and travel memoirs for readers of all ages, and I run writing workshops for young people in libraries and schools across Kuwait.

Storyline

1998

Fills her first notebooks with stories at her grandmother’s house in Kuwait City.
2004

Wins a short story competition for young writers at the National Library.
2009

Starts travelling, from Oman and Morocco to Japan and the Andes, notebook always in hand.
2011

Finishes her first manuscript during a winter in Salalah.
2016

Publishes *Footprints Across the World*, a travel memoir.
2018

Her first novel, *Wander Beyond Horizons*, becomes a Gulf bestseller.
2020

Starts free writing workshops for young people in libraries across Kuwait.
Today
