About the reserve

From one wadi to a protected reserve

Since 1995

What began as a few Al Ain families protecting one wadi from off-road driving has grown into a reserve cared for by rangers, ecologists and hundreds of volunteers.

We look after habitats, breed gazelles for release and help visitors discover the plants and animals that share this landscape with us.

Why we do it

We love this land

Every trail we maintain and every ghaf tree we plant comes from a simple love of this landscape. We want the next generation to find it just as beautiful.

It belongs to everyone

Clean air, rare water and quiet wadis are a gift we all share. Protecting them is a job for everyone, and every visit and donation helps.

Come and see it for yourself

The trails open at 6:30 in the cooler months; guided walks leave from the visitor centre.
