Reliable electricity
Solar panels on every public building and fair, published prices for neighbourhood generators.
Municipal council candidate, Aley
Nader Makarem
"Aley deserves reliable electricity, clean streets and jobs that keep our young people here. I am asking for your vote to deliver them."
Priorities
Four priorities for Aley
Clean streets and waste sorting
Sorting at source in every neighbourhood and an end to open dumping in the valleys.
Jobs and summer tourism
Support for small shops, guesthouses and restaurants so the summer season lasts longer.
Safer roads and clean water
Repaired roads, street lighting near schools and a full check of the water network.
Why I am standing
For fifteen years I have run a free legal clinic for tenants, workers and shop owners in Aley. I have heard the same problems again and again: no electricity, rubbish in the streets and young people leaving.
I am standing for the municipal council to fix them, with a budget everyone can read and meetings everyone can attend.

Goals
What I will do in the first two years
Publish the municipal budget online every year
Every contract and every expense, in plain Arabic, for anyone to check.
Plant 5,000 trees with schools and scouts
Clean-up days and planting weekends that bring neighbours together.
Train 300 young people with local businesses
Apprenticeships in trades, hospitality and technology that lead to paid jobs.
Hold an open meeting every month
A public meeting in a different neighbourhood each month, so your voice shapes every decision.
