Biography & Awards

Three decades on stage

For more than three decades Rabih Fakhoury has been one of the most admired actors of the Arab stage. Trained in classical theatre in Beirut, he moves easily between Shakespeare, Chekhov and the Arabic repertoire of Saadallah Wannous and Tawfiq al-Hakim. His performances are known for their emotional honesty, physical precision and a voice that fills the largest auditorium. Critics have called him "an actor who makes every word feel newly written". Alongside his stage work he teaches masterclasses for young actors and supports community theatre in schools across Lebanon.
