Guitarist and musician

Rami Haddad

Guitarist, performer, composer and educator. New album: Of Light and Shadow.

Rami's greatest strength is his ability to separate himself from the crowd that believes intensity goes hand in hand with volume, aggression and excessive effects. He brings a sense of balance and measure to the music that allows him to build tension by contrast, not bombast.

About me

I picked up my first guitar at twelve and have not put it down since. Over three decades I have played in rock and blues bands, recorded solo albums and toured across the Arab world and Europe.

Today I divide my time between the stage, the studio in Mar Mikhael and teaching, sharing what I have learned with guitarists of every level.

On stage and in the studio

On stage I love the energy of a live crowd; in the studio I love the details: the right tone, the right take, the right space between notes. My recordings blend blues, rock, jazz and the Arabic maqam into a sound that is warm, dynamic and honest.

Best live album, 2022

Awarded for Live in Beirut, an album that balances fiery blues with quiet, melodic restraint.

What I bring to every lesson

Years of performing, recording and teaching have given me a broad, practical skill set that I bring to every lesson.
