Lemon, ginger and honey tea
Nour Antoun
A warming mug of black tea with fresh ginger, lemon, honey and a cinnamon stick for cold evenings.
On cold evenings nothing beats a mug of lemon and ginger tea. It is cosy, simple and soothing.
Simmer four thin slices of fresh ginger in a cup of water for five minutes, then pour it over a black tea bag and leave it for three minutes. Stir in a tablespoon of honey and the juice of half a lemon.
A cinnamon stick and a couple of cloves make it even more comforting. Let the honey dissolve in warm, not boiling, tea to keep its flavour.
Make a teapot of it after dinner and pass it round with dates or a plate of maamoul.
